Margaret Bullerwell was born at Blaydon Bank, Winlaton, Co. Durham, England and christened at St Paul’s, Winlaton on 22 June 1834, the daughter of George Bullerwell and Isabella Barnes.

 

Margaret married William Modral (born in Little Benton, Northumberland and christened 13 April 1834 at St Peter’s, Wallsend, the son of John Modral and Jane ?) on 18 October 1859 at Whitworth Church, Spennymoor, Co. Durham.

 

Margaret and William, a gardener, were the parents of:

 

·         Charles Modral born in Ryton, Co. Durham and christened 23 September 1860 at Holy Cross, Ryton married Eleanor Moody in 1884;

 

·         John George Modral born in Ryton and christened 7 December 1862 at Holy Cross, Ryton died in Hetton Le Hole and was buried on 9 April 1877 at St Nicholas, Hetton Le Hole, aged 14 years;

 

·         Jane Modral born in Windlestone near Kirk Merrington, Co. Durham and christened at St John the Evangelist, Kirk Merrington on 18 September 1864 married John Hall in 1885;

 

·         Robert Modral born in Windlestone and christened 17 June 1866 at St John the Evangelist, Kirk Merrington died in Hetton Le Hole and was buried on 8 May 1877 at St Nicholas, Hetton Le Hole, aged 10 years;

 

·         William Cuthbert Modral born in Middle Redford in 1868, Hamsterley, Co. Durham;

 

·         Ethel Isabel Modral born in Hetton Le Hole, Co. Durham in 1871 married Harry Bateman in 1899;

 

·         Edwin Modral born in Hetton Le Hole in 1873 was buried on 12 November 1904 at St Nicholas, Hetton Le Hole, aged 31 years; and

 

·         Margaret Ann Modral born in Hetton Le Hole in 1875 married Arthur John Scott in 1907.

 

William Modral died in Hetton Le Hole and was buried on 26 August 1890 at St Nicholas, Hetton Le Hole, aged 56 years.

 

Margaret Modral nee Bullerwell died in Hetton Le Hole and was buried at St Nicholas, Hetton Le Hole on 27 December 1909, aged 76 years.
